Worlds of Thoughts

Earth’s expanding population brings all sorts of problems to our planet—

Climate change…

Increasing pollution…

Struggles to feed the impoverished…

Whereas these problems were ones that could be solved in the long term, there was something unforeseen that would threaten the immediate survival of humanity – something that would remain hidden until Earth’s population surpassed a critical point.

On a mission to investigate the annihilation of every soldier at a base camp in Afghanistan, US Marine 1st Lt. Ashton Romano and his platoon are shocked at what they find – not only were the marines at the camp killed by archaic weapons, but the enemy dragged some away and used them as food.

The explanation for this comes quickly. While returning to the base, Ashton and his platoon see something appear on their flank, a portal opening to another realm.

Although they defeat the orcs that flooded through before the portal closed, this encounter is but a taste of what’s to come – for as time passes, the portals become more numerous and stand open longer, popping up all over the world.

It soon becomes clear that if no means to stop them from opening can be found, humanity will eventually be overwhelmed and extinct as a race…

And it’s all because of the Worlds of Thoughts enabled by humanity itself.

Final Arbitration

The End of All Things.

That’s what Rowan, Asher and Holly must prevent.

They, together with four of The Chosen – three intelligent housecats and one stalwart gargoyle – stand against the impending doom.

The Six Realms strive to impose their will upon the Prime – controlling all life and things on Earth. The Arbiter is the only one who can stop them.

The trouble is, even though Rowan has assumed the Office of Arbiter, and has six Judicials to assist him, they face a triad of Realms that have banded together. This force has more than just an advantage in numbers – they possess a bit of The Spark, that special essence from the Big Bang. With it, their mystic power is unstoppable.

Worse, Fate has predicted that Rowan must sacrifice one of his friends.

Will it be Holly, the young woman he’s known since first grade, the one who is closer to him than his own sisters are?

Or will it be Asher, someone Rowan has also known since childhood – and after a dream-come-true moment shared between them, is now his boyfriend?

Or is there another way? All will be determined in this, the Final Arbitration.

What Readers Are Saying

“I couldn’t put the first book in this series down, and it happened again! Final Arbitration was simply captivating, and I found myself binge-reading it through in one, very late night, and I bet you’ll find it hard not to do the same thing!”

Review on Final Arbitration

“There’s a ton of portal fantasy fiction out there, but I have to say that author Halden took his tale to a clever, fun, and most unique level. I got it all from this story – unique characters with soulful interactions, imaginative worlds to explore, a wonderful romance, and an unexpected ending. It’s definitely an A+ read in my opinion!”

The Last Arbiter

An unimaginable alliance.
A sneak attack.
And a world oblivious to the danger it now faces.

The Arbiter balances the competing forces of Fate, Chaos, Random Chance, Free Will, Order, and Cause & Effect. Much more than abstracts – these six realms are conjoined with ours. Each wants to impose its singular impetus upon humanity to the exclusion of all else.

The only problem is that the unthinkable has occurred – the Arbiter is dead.

And without a trained successor, the Balance is at risk.

Rowan Aspen thought his 21st birthday would be no different than the previous ones – doing morning chores, going to classes, a birthday dinner and opening presents afterward.

Instead, Rowan’s day started with him almost crashing to avoid three cats that bounded out in front of his truck. No ordinary pets, these cats heralded the beginning of a grand journey that Rowan – along with his two best friends, Asher and Holly – would undertake, one that would test their mettle and demand great courage in the months ahead.

This journey will uncover mysteries and decide the fate of every living being on Earth—

Because Rowan was the Last Arbiter.
